They say miracles happen everyday. Well, in Ventura I personally witnessed many miracles that showed me how strong our organization is and how determined it was to make the light shine at our conference, especially in the face of adversity. We certainly won’t let a pandemic bring us down and our strong bond showed us that. Workshops went on, and networking flourished at every step. We learned valuable information to help serve our clients and walked away as brighter and better as before.
I personally have each one of you to thank for showing each other how determined you all were in the stories you’ve shared, the time and effort you’ve all put forth, and most importantly in the work you do. The Ventura Conference was a great example of what is yet to come. We witnessed new members attend from counties all throughout California and made new friends that we hope to see again. Everyone brought their knowledge, their skills, and shared their experiences in what I consider to be the best conference yet. To keep this flame well lit there is much work to be done. I personally encourage all of you to take back this torch of light to your agencies and build upon our organization by creating local chapters or not abandoning active ones. Continue to host NEW PATHS fundraisers for team building activities, strive to build and organize local workshops for your teams, and show the fun side of what NEW has to offer. Part of our organization is to help each other within our agencies to unite, to know each other, and to work hard for the sake of those we serve. I hope to see you all in Burlingame in 2023, but in the meantime, we still have so much work to do and I promise you that I will try in my capacity to keep that flame lit for all of you. So if you ever need guidance for your local chapter, please reach out to any one of us on the board because when you succeed, we all succeed.

CalSAWS Training Opportunities
SolutionsWest is looking for eligibility workers to conduct CalSAWS system training for CalWIN counties between June 2022 - October 2023. This is a great opportunity to leverage existing eligibility program knowledge, county experience, grow professionally, and be a part of a great team and effort for the State of California.
